Jerry began his ministry as pastor of Monte Vista in September, 1995. A native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee he has served as pastor of three other churches in Kentucky and Tennessee before moving to Maryville. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Religion from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky as well as Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Jerry and his wife, Kim have been married since 1979 and they enjoy leading marriage retreats, working together in the area of marriage education, and volunteering for mission opportunities. They have two adult daughters, Emily and Ellen.
