Ministry Teams

One of the newest goals in the youth ministry is for the ministry to become “student-led”. The creation of Ministry Teams is one of the methods being used to accomplish this. Initially, six teams were formed: In-Reach, Out-Reach, Missions, Worship, Fellowship (youth council), and Technology. Students grades 8 - 12 are encouraged to choose a team for a school year.

Ministry Teams meet once a month for one hour and each team decides on a project and begins work on that project. Adult leaders help empower and encourage the teams to accomplish their goals.

Youth Sunday

Each spring the students plan and lead Sunday morning worship. Youth are encouraged to decide on a “theme” for the Sunday and then to choose songs, dramas, readings, visuals and message within this theme. Youth Sundays are empowering to the students and supported by the church in very positive ways. This is a very special day at Monte Vista!

Youth Praise Team

This is a group of student volunteers who desire to lead worship through singing. They commit to practice each week together under the leadership of the Music Minister. They have opportunities to sing in Sunday morning worship as well as help lead Youth Worship on Wednesday nights. Youth who join the Youth Praise Team (YPT) make a one year commitment for practice and singing opportunities.
