Passport

Passport is the highlight of the year for all the youth! This is the annual church camp experience which includes a daily abbreviated mission experience. Passport camps are available in several locations, so, a variety is offered by taking the youth to new places.

Passport is called “Passport” because youth receive a passport during the first celebration meeting. Their passport places them into Passport groups of 15 - 18 youth with a trained college leader. So, the church youth group is dispersed into the greater body of youth participating in the camp.

Perry County, Alabama

Monte Vista Church has made a commitment to join hands with another nonprofit organization, Sowing Seeds of Hope, to work in Perry County Alabama helping in areas of need. Each year our church body (families) go into this economically impoverished county to do construction work on homes and/or churches and to provide backyard Bible clubs for the children. This trip lasts 6 days.

For the past 5 years, MV youth have joined this effort. Primarily high school students work along side the adults to accomplish these purposes. This trip has become a benchmark for the youth in service to the community. It is one of the “don't miss this trip” experiences that has proven to be life-changing.

Interested high school youth may sign up now by contacting the church office at (865) 982-6070. The spproximate cost is $125 per youth, which includes meals and lodging. Participants stay in dorms at Judson College in Marion.

Local projects

Youth are encouraged to make a difference in Blount County. Participation in Monte Vista Mission Project Day and World Changers provide home repair and clean-up opportunities. Youth served over 200 people at the fundraiser for the Pregnancy Resource Center!! At Christmas, youth sponsor a Parent's Night Out offering baby-sitting services at the church. Money raised goes toward funding more mission projects!
